Potassium Required
During the Induction Plan you will be consuming at least 64 oz of water per day. At the same time you will be consuming very few carbohydrates, which will significantly cut your insulin production (storage hormone).
With greater water consumption and decreased insulin production, your kidneys will function like a water spigot run wild. This is important because you will be ridding your body of excess sodium and newly released toxins from fat cells in the body.
Unfortunately, during this initial weight loss period, your body will also be ridding itself of another important salt, potassium. This can result in muscle cramping, light headedness, and overall weakness.
Because potassium is important in heart muscle function, deficient amounts of this vital mineral may contribute to breathing impairment and a "racing heart or irregular heart beat.)
To resolve these potential problems, the Induction Plan calls for one tablet of Potassium 99 MG
Target-Mins™ after breakfast and one after dinner.
Caution:
If you are taking medicaton to control high blood pressure or diuretics to control fluid retention, consult your bariatric physician immediately before taking any potassium supplement.
These medications may prevent potassium loss or be "potassium sparing," thereby raising the amount of this mineral to dangerously high levels.
Directions during Induction Plan:
Adults take two (2) tablets daily. One tablet after breakfast and one tablet after dinner.
